My birthday

Today I turned the age that I always remember my mom telling everyone she was.....29.  So I finally caught up to my Mom....who knew one day we would be the same age:)  I had a lot of mixed feelings this birthday.  Most of my thoughts consisted of, this is not where I thought I would be at this age in my life, but I'm sure a lot of people feel that way.  Well my birthday started off with a Jamba Juice and sitting in work meetings all day.  However it got better with the numerous calls and messages that were left.  I couldn't believe how many calls I got, seriously I think people knew this was going to be a difficult birthday.  I then got home to find an edible arrangement from my parents.  Then Jane took me out to dinner with Cheryl to Tommy Bahamas (I had no idea they had food...I just thought they had clothes:)  It was delicious and they even gave me a free dessert on my birthday.  I ate way too much and was stuffed, but I had a wonderful time.  I gave Cheryl a hard time that she didn't write me a witty song for the big 2-9.  (She is a wonderful family friend, who has written me funny little songs at big stages in my life:)  Well the next day I get a message to go home and listen to the voicemail at home, sure enough there was a witty song about me turning 29.  There were always flowers from my parents, gerber daisies, my favorite.  Then the next day I got a bundt cake from my sister (it was supposed to be delivered on my birthday but the place messed up and so I had to pick it up), it was so worth it and so delicious.  Then on Friday, I went to my cousins and ate tortas and german chocolate cake.  Seriously it was a great birthday week and it wasn't so bad :)

A Storm is a brewin'

My mom drove with me out to Arizona.  At the start of our trip this is what we ran in to.  It was super windy and the clouds were just moving so fast. 

 We ended up driving the whole way in one day.  Which equaled out to about 19 1/2 hours.  I'm so grateful that she came with me and enjoyed just talking and driving. 

When I arrived at Jane's, my sister had sent me an edible arrangement.  It was so thoughtful and we all loved the fruit...so tasty and pretty!

Summer in Folsom

Well not too much has been going on.  As most people know I spent the summer with my sister.  I will have to find more pictures, but I didn't really take a ton.  I had a blast while I was there.  There was a lot of laughing, playing, and a little relaxing. 

A few funny stories that happened.  Aimee and I took Mackenzee and Parker on what was supposed to be a nice stroll around the lake.  It was 13 miles and I really thought the kids could do it.  Lets just say we made it 4.25 miles.  We had tears, throwing up, and some yelling.  It is fun to look back on this and just laugh now.  Aimee and I decided to try it the next day and it was HARD!  We got lost a couple of times and ended up going 16 miles and had Mac pick us up at the bottom of the hill by their house.  So after we did it, we ended up being really proud of Mackenzee and Parker for going as far as they did.

We also went to the rodeo, it was sooo hot but we had a great time.  There was a a rodeo clown that threw silver dollars all around the dirt and then they had the kids come down to try and find them.  We told Mackenzee to go down and find one and her direct quote was , "Um don't you guys realize that I'm wearing my cute clothes."  

 We also went swimming a lot.  I got the older two kids to go off the high dive, down the water slide, and jumping off a little rock wall into the water.  It is amazing what bribery can do:)  So since we swam a lot, our hair was getting really stiff and snarly.  So I told Mackenzee I would deep condition it.  Well they didn't have a shower cap, so I put saran wrap on her head while the conditioner did it's job.  She looked in the mirror and said "That looks dumb, hold on."  She then proceeded to get out a pink head band and put it on and then said, "Ok, much better".  Her other big even was she got her ears pierced this summer.

 Eliza really beats to her own drum and I love it.  She goes at her own pace no matter what or who is telling her to hurry.  She constantly says hilarious things.  Her funny thing from this summer is she can do this pretty creepy voice.  Well Aimee and I took her to Olive Garden and as we were leaving the lady opened the door for us and said, "Thank you come again".  Eliza immediately bust out the creepy voice out of nowhere and said "You're Welcome".  We all burst into laughter. 

 Parker this summer, wanted to grow his hair out so he could style it more. (Ok, maybe his mom and aunt wanted him to grow it out).  He was so fun swimming with especially when we went to the water park.  He has become so brave in the water.
